Part of New Orleans DSA’s Racial Justice Speaker Series
What is the role of unions in the movement for Black lives? For those of us
organizing in the Jim Crow right-to-work South, where exploitation by the boss
goes hand-in-hand with police power, a key strategic question for our struggle
must be: what is the role of unions in the movement for Black lives? This panel
brings together local labor and social justice leaders to contribute their
insights on what the fight for democracy in the workplace means for the fight
for an equitable, anti-racist society, and how we can forge stronger ties among
grassroots organizations to take power from bosses and cops.
This event is organized by Worker Power Louisiana, the labor committee of New
Orleans DSA. Please send any questions to labor@dsaneworleans.org.
