Film Screening: The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson-
In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots that created the modern gay liberation movement, join us for a free screening of The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson.
The documentary follows activist Victoria Cruz as she explores the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of her friend and fellow activist Marsha P. Johnson. Johnson, along with Sylvia Rivera, formed the world's first trans-rights organization, STAR (Street Transvestites Action Revolutionaries), and despite their many challenges over the years ignited a powerful and lasting civil rights movement for gender nonconforming people.
